Portal to connect Kathmandu with independent travellers
Kathmandu-based small- and medium-sized tourism operators were launched into the e-marketplace earlier this month with the launch of a dedicated booking portal. The portal, www.kathmanduhotel-link.com, is locally owned and operated by whl.travel. It is designed for hoteliers in Kathmandu to showcase their products to independent travellers going to Nepal. Whl.travel partnered with Nepal-based Outdoor Himalayan Treks (OHT) whose clients are independent travellers and are encouraged to volunteer on projects or provide financial assistance in remote villages. OHT is committed to sustainable tourism offers a full range of travel services, including accommodation bookings and airline ticketing. “Nepal Tourism Board applauds…this endeavour that will certainly help the tourism of the country in the long run.” Prasidha B. Panday, President of the Hotel Association of Nepal added that he was confident the portal would “add further momentum to the Nepalese tourism sector, providing necessary facilitation to both accommodation/service seekers and providers.” |
